Privacy Policy & POPIA Notice
How Parallax Digital collects, uses, and protects personal information. Last updated 17 September 2026.
Who we are
Parallax Digital (Pty) Ltd (“Parallax Digital”, “we”, “us”) is a marketing services company registered in South Africa, working with organisations locally and internationally.
For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), Parallax Digital is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice. Our Information Officer can be reached at nick@parallaxdigital.world.
What we collect
Enquiry details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, and anything you write in the message field of our contact form.
Client engagement information: business contact details, brand materials, campaign assets, and advertising account access you choose to share with us so we can deliver the service.
Basic technical information: standard server and analytics data such as pages visited and approximate location, used only to keep the site working and understand general traffic.
We do not knowingly collect special personal information or the personal information of children.
Why we process it, and on what basis
To respond to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call. Basis: your consent and steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
To deliver contracted marketing services and report on them. Basis: performance of a contract.
To keep accounting, tax, and business records. Basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
To send occasional service or marketing updates. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying with “unsubscribe” or emailing us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers (operators) who help us run the business, such as our website and database hosting provider, email provider, and advertising platforms where you have asked us to run campaigns on your behalf.
Some of these providers process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we only use providers who are subject to laws or contractual terms giving protection substantially similar to POPIA.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and for at least five years afterwards where tax and company law requires it.
Security
Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in an access-controlled database. Access is limited to people who need it to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you and the Information Regulator of any compromise affecting your personal information, as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA (and the GDPR if you are in the EU or UK) you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct or delete it, object to processing, withdraw consent, or request a copy in a portable format.
Email nick@parallaxdigital.world to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will not charge you for a reasonable request.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
